About the Artist

Born and based in Nara, Japan.
Naoyuki Ishiga is a kirie artist whose work explores the quiet beauty of nature, memory, and traditional Japanese culture.
Growing up surrounded by temples, birds, flowers, and traditional craftsmanship, he developed a deep appreciation for the landscapes and stories that have shaped Japan for centuries.
His grandfather was a Buddhist sculptor, and the atmosphere of the workshop, filled with the scent of wood and the sound of carving, became one of his earliest artistic influences.
Today, each work is carefully cut by hand from a single sheet of paper, preserving fragments of memories and moments that connect the past with the present.
